Antibacterial Absorbable Surgical Suture (PGA)
Glikosorb Plus sutures are synthetic, braided, absorbable, sterile surgical sutures made from polyglycolic acid. Chemical formulation is (C2 H2 O2)n. Braided sutures have newly developed special coating material. Coating of the sutures were made with Calcium Stearate and Poly glycolide-co-lactide mixture. Glikosorb Plus suture and coating materials is inert, non-collagen, non-antigenic, and non-pyrogenic material. These sutures offer anti-bacterial effect with at most 60mg/m large spectrum anti-bacterial agent chlorhexidine diacetate (CHA) content. Glikosorb Plus is often used for soft tissue closure or bonding.
To make surgical operations easier and enable easier visibility on tissue, Glikosorb Plus sutures have violet colour. Natural colouring agents were used in colouring process. Glikosorb sutures are manufactured with or without stainless steel needle, between USP 8/0 – USP 6 range, and with various lengths between 45cm to 100cm.
