GLIKOLAK PLUS
Anti-Bacterial Absorbable Surgical Suture (PGLA)
Glikolak Plus suture is flexible, synthetic, absorbable, sterile surgical suture consisting of copolymer synthesised from 90% glycolide and 10% L-lactide (gylcolide and lactide acid derivatives). Empirical formula of copolymer is (C₂H₂O₂)m(C₃H₄O₂)n. Multifilament suture is formed by combining fibres by braiding. Coating material of Glikolak Plus suture is prepared with equal amount of calcium stearate and 30% glycolide and 70% lactide mixture. Since Glikolak Plus suture is used on living organisms, it is absorbable and cause no irritation. Glikolak Plus sutures offer anti-bacterial effect with at most 60mg/m large spectrum anti-bacterial agent chlorhexidine diacetate (CHA) content.
Glikolak Plus sutures have violet colour to make surgical operations easier. Natural colouring agents were used in colouring process. Glikolak Plus sutures are manufactured with or without stainless steel needle, between USP 5/0 – USP 2 range, and with various lengths between 45cm to 100cm.
